Dear All:
I am in the process of putting together a proposal for an Assistant Lab
Director's position, and would like to get input from the list on a number
of issues ...
How have you dealt with rationale issues for the position? What arguments
(beyond "I'm currently working 60 hours a week, and have taken on many more
responsibilities than were in the description of the position I applied for"
have you used successfully? I'm already sharpening my pencil on this one ...
Since this will likely be a split position -- one or two sections of
lower-division Spanish and lab responsibilities -- what might a reasonable
salary be for this continuing, non-tenured position?
Does anyone have job descriptions that I can filch for this initiative?
What duties/skills have lab directors found most useful in their assistant
directors?
What have I left out?
Thanks in advance,
a.
