Duties:
         Advise & support faculty in foreign languages & literatures in
designing & developing technology-based instructional materials; create
training programs for multimedia materials production; organize workshops,
tutorials & demonstrations on applications of technology to foreign
language pedagogy; prepare written & multimedia documentation; acquire new
knowledge & skills in technology-based language learning & disseminate
such information to interested faculty; participate in the production of
customized instructional applications & materials for selected projects;
configure & maintain computer systems optimized for use in multiple
languages, including those with non-Roman fonts;  supervise & train staff
of student workers & coordinate with other SAS Computing staff. 

Qualifications:

         Degree in a relevant field, such as second language acquisition,
foreign language pedagogy, applied linguistics, or ESL; Bachelor's
required, Master's strongly preferred; candidate's must have experience
with Macintosh & Windows platforms, designing & creating interactive
web-based materials, and developing multimedia applications for
instructional purposes; the position requires an energetic, highly
motivated individual with excellent organizational, analytical &
interpersonal skills; must be able to interact creatively &
collaboratively with faculty members with varying levels of expertise in
educational technology; desired qualifications including language teaching
experience, knowledge of a foreign language & experience in curriculum design.
