Davidson College seeks a Language Resource Center Director to assist in the
incorporation of instructional technology into foreign language courses.
Duties include:
- manage operations of a 22-station Macintosh language classroom: helping
students use course software, supporting faculty who hold classes in the
classroom, troubleshooting hardware and software, and supervising student
assistants;
- manage a multi-media development facility (Mac and PC);
- facilitate development of foreign language faculty using technology and
support their use of Blackboard course management software, multimedia
creation, Web resources, and other applicable technology;
- administer a Windows 2000 server (or servers) for distribution of
multimedia and other materials;
- possibly teach one or two foreign language courses per year.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred as
well as experience using digital technologies and software for creation of
multimedia and interactive digital materials useful in foreign language
instruction at the college level. Proficiency with delivery of instructional
technology applications on both Macintosh and Windows NT/2000 workstations
is highly desirable. Experience teaching foreign language is also desirable.
Candidates must possess excellent organizational and communication skills
and demonstrate commitment to excellent client service.

The position is a fulltime, 40 hours per week, 12-month per year, salaried
position. Salary is commensurate with applicant's skills and experience.
