>DUTIES:
>1. Conduct and oversee video production activities in the University of Michigan's Language Resource Center (LRC); this includes: (a) plan, produce and deploy instructional video projects in digital and analog formats;  (b) manage and maintain the LRC's video studio for on-site recording and provide professional remote location recordings.
>2. Collaborate with LRC multimedia specialists on diverse video and multimedia projects.  This includes participation in preparing grant proposals, and the design, development, and deployment of digital materials for a variety of instructional initiatives.
>3. Provide foreign language/culture faculty and staff with workshops and training activities.  Assist faculty integrate video materials in curricula, teaching evaluation, and teaching portfolios; train undergraduates to create their own video materials and put language skills to use in new and innovative areas.
>4. Work to develop materials utilizing video in multimedia applications, web environments and other emerging technologies; and identify areas for future development, acquisition, and projects.  This includes providing advice on the implementation of new instructional technologies and assisting in design of evaluation tools for use with instructional projects.
>5. Work closely with LRC information specialist to develop and maintain strict standards regarding the storage, circulation, and archiving of raw stock and post-production masters/inventory for catalogues, collections, and future projects.
>6. Assist the information specialist and media coordinator in training student video crews and other departmental staff.
>7. Work with the director and staff to develop a vision of the future for video production, video technology, multimedia projects and design, Internet2 and other emerging technologies.  Collaborate with other staff members to expand the LRC's presence in the digital environment and assist on the general integration of technologies within the LRC, in foreign language/culture classes, and the campus' connection to foreign communities around the world.
>8. Act as liaison to other units on campus involved in video/multimedia production and in the use of video and multimedia materials as pedagogical tools.

>DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
>BA/MA in video production, instructional technology, or educational technology; significant experience in analog and digital video production and editing and the development of multimedia applications.  Experience working with foreign language instructional technology and successful production of multimedia materials in post-secondary foreign language/culture instruction. Familiarity with foreign language computing, including a general understanding of non-Roman script issues and their implications for multimedia design/development.  Experience with or high degree of interest in video conferencing.  High level of proficiency and with Final Cut Pro, MacroMedia Director, Quicktime, Media Cleaner Pro, and other tools.
>
>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
>BA or significant experience in analog and digital video production, including studio/field recording, lighting, composition, scripting, and videographic/photographic techniques.  Significant editing and post-production experience with Final Cut Pro is critical, along with strong computer experience, multimedia design/development and project management skills.  Must be creative, dependable, have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, pay attention to detail, and have strong writing and oral skills.  Must also have significant enthusiasm for and interest in foreign languages and cultures (proficiency is not a requirement, but is certainly beneficial).  Must have experience in and enjoy working collaboratively in team atmosphere.
