University of Regina

TECHNICIAN II (One year term)

The University of Regina invites applications for the position of
Technician II in the Language Institute Labs. The incumbent will
assist in the day-to-day operations and maintenance of both language
lab facilities; provide introductions and technical support for
both labs; collect and input weekly lab assignments; maintain the
language labs web site; develop courseware for language programs in
consultation with Instructors; install and upgrade software; provide
technical support for in-house audio recording; investigate and
integrate new technology, especially software, and make
recommendations for purchase; familiarize Instructors with new
resources and/or technology; explore available internet resources for
potential uses by students and Instructors; work in collaboration with
the L.I.L.L. Manager.

Candidates must have an undergraduate degree in either a
language, education or computer/multimedia area; experience
or knowledge in the area of second language learning;
familiarity with authoring systems and web-related
software; minimum of 2 years related experience preferred;
ability to work under minimal supervision; ability to
communicate effectively orally and in writing; ability to
establish and maintain effective working relationships
