>Subject: RE: #6097 automatic dictation correction

What kind of a dictation quiz is this? What kind of material:
authentic, teacher-generated? Is the task a cloz procedure or a
whole-text transcription? We were producing cloz procedure
activities, linking Apple IIs to tape recorders (in the 80s). I am
not sure you will be able to do this on Word, but smart dudes like
Chris Jones will know better than I would.

In scoring, are you going to score accents, since non-spelling issues
are involved (key strokes)? How many times will students listen?
Will they be scored the same whether they listen two or four
times?
