I understand your point of view Kirk, I conducted a survey on language labs
a year ago and realized  how under used or not used at all they were.  Yet,
on the other hand, I guess all the cultural and technological changes over
the last 20 years urge us -language teachers-  to revise our roles and where
/ what / how resources interplay with learners, teachers and a wider
community be it the school, college or the unknown faces of email writers or
chatters. Of course language labs need a change as to what they are for, who
/ when they are accessed and how, etc.
