I read a review in April 2001 Popular Mechanics of Philips DVDR1000 DVD
Video Recorder.

What suggestions do you have for configuring this machine to record from a
satellite dish. I would like to record foreign language films, specific
topical programs.

Does anyone have any information as to this piece of
hardware? Reliability? Cost?
