Paul,

Yes,  it is very easy. Have the faculty member look at

 http://www.uri.edu/artsci/langlab/documentation/qtpro.html

This page will tell them how to make the text track and import it into QT
Pro.

After they get their text track done and imported into QT (Pro).  If in QT4,
they should open Get Info under the Movie file menu.  The pulldown menu at
the left is tracks (they should select text track here) and the pull-down
menu on the right is  properties (they should select size here).  They will
now select the adjust option.  This will put red handles on the text track
which they can use to move and adjust the size.

I saw a great handout from Claire Bradin-Siskin on QT Pro. I don't know if
she has it on the web. Claire?
