Campus Computing Associate
Academic Technology Coordinator
College of Arts and Humanities

The University of Maryland, College Park seeks a discipline-oriented
computing coordinator to promote academic use of technology in the
College of Arts and Humanities. The incumbent will work closely with
faculty to promote innovative use of technology in instruction,
research, and production within the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center
and the Departments of Dance, Theatre and Music and will serve as a
liaison between the University of Maryland's Office of Information
Technology and the college. In this role, the coordinator will work
closely with faculty, staff, and students; provide training in
discipline-oriented applications; and support initiatives in the
academic use of technology--for example, conducting workshops and
serving on technology-oriented committees.

To be eligible, candidates must hold a bachelor's degree, preferably in
an academic discipline related to the performing arts. An advanced
degree is desirable. Three to five years of experience working with
information technology is required, preferably in a performing arts or
academic setting. Information technology background should include
experience with Macintosh and Windows applications, preferably in a
multi-platform, networked environment. The ideal candidate will have
experience with digital video and audio and knowledge of delivering
media over the Web.Working knowledge of relevant systems and software
applications is required. Examples might include software such as
Photoshop, MiniCad, AutoCAD, Director, RayDream Studio, Premiere, and
Maya or systems such as AVID or Media 100. Must have excellent
interpersonal and communications skills, be able to work well in a
collegial relationship with faculty, be able to work independently as
well as collaboratively; have a service-oriented approach, and be
flexible, yet highly motivated. Salary is commensurate with
