Associate Program Director College of Liberal Arts Language Center (a
resource center for technology in second language teaching and
learning), University of Minnesota. Duties include: Manage LC human
resources, budget, facilities and services in consultation with the
Program Director. Promote and publicize the LC through the LC
website, newsletter and listserv and by organizing and presenting
forums, workshops, and class sessions on aspects of technology and
second language teaching. Coordinate LC services with the needs of
CLA language departments and the College. Keep current with
developments in the fields of higher education administration,
information technology management and second language teaching and
learning. Essential Qualifications: Master's degree or ABD in a
relevant field; minimum of two years administrative experience and
second-language teaching experience in a higher education setting;
excellent organizational and communication skills; supervisory and
budget experience; proficiency in a second language; interest in
application of technology to language teaching. Desired
qualifications: Minimum of five years administrative experience in
higher education; minimum of two years experience with technology in
second language teaching in higher education; experience in the
management of information technology. 100%, twelve-month, academic
administrative position to begin July 1, 2001. Salary commensurate
with qualifications and experience.
