This is news to me. SoundEdit is still lsited as one of the currently
available products on the Macromedia web site. However, it is not listed on
the store page as available for sale. Nor is it listed on the products page
for educational institutions. Apparently this does signal a phasing out of
the product on Macromedia's part. They have not been developing the program
for several years.
SoundEdit has not been bundled with Director Studio since version 6.5 of
Director (currently in version 8).
SoundEdit is still available on various sites, however. Check out
www.sparco.com. They currently have 9 copies of SoundEdit 16 Academic for
$197 and 91 copies of SoundEdit 16 without the academic discount for $250.
