Kirk,

I'd suggest that for digital audio/video distribution, you might look at
Apple's QuickTime Streaming Server (QTSS).

You can even download the Beta version of their upcoming version 3 at
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/preview/qtss.html

experience with QTSS.
