viewpoint.

This message is a call for workshops for the meeting, proposals for
the meeting (abstracts of up to 250 words), a call for suggested
topics for group discussion (especially practical matters Directors
have to tackle), as well as an invitation to attend and be a part of

Stony Brook is on the beautiful North shore of Long Island, NY (Great
Gatsby/F. Scott Fitzgerald country). It is 60 miles from Manhattan,
NYC, accessible via highway, ferry from Connecticut, or air (its
local airport, Islip, is a Southwest Airlines airport). Further
details about the University are available from the University web
page at http://www.sunysb.edu while information about travel and the
area is available from
http://naples.cc.sunysb.edu/doit.nsf/pages/about . If you need
additional local information please contact Mike Ledgerwood at
[log in to unmask] or 631 632-6914 with voice mail, or Kris
Vandenberg at the Center 631 632-7013. The University does not reopen
until Jan. 24th so Kris may not be at the phone much until then.
There is voice mail with this phone as well, however, so you may
leave a message.

As an additional note of interest, the LLRC at Stony Brook will be
hosting an ACTFL/IALL/Houghton Mifflin workshop giving an
introduction to using technology for language learning just before
NEALL.
