>Subject: IALL 2001: Call for Proposals

------------------
IALL 2001
CALL FOR PROPOSALS

NOTE: Deadline is December 15, 2000

IALL 2001: Exploring New Directions in Language Learning Technology, will be held May 22-26, 2001, at Rice University in Houston, Texas. We invite all IALL members and other interested professionals to share your expertise and experiences by submitting proposals for presentations, panel discussions, workshops, and poster sessions.

The goal of IALL 2001 is to explore the changing face of foreign language technology and the challenges these changes pose. Among the issues to be addressed are: the impact of emerging technologies on the field; the training and development appropriate for language professionals (administrators, educators, etc.); and the innovative uses of all kinds of technology in the language learning process.

If you don't think you have anything to offer, think again. What are you doing that might be useful to your colleagues? What challenges are you facing or what solutions have you found? Everyone has something to share, so don't be shy! Even if you only have a topic in mind, make a proposal. You'll be amazed at how much you learn as you prepare your presentation.

Information about the conference and how to submit proposals can be found at http://iall.rice.edu or by following the conference links at the IALL website (http://iall.net). Although paper proposals will be accepted, we STRONGLY encourage you to submit your proposals on-line. Note the deadline is December 15, 2000, but paper proposals must be postmarked by December 9.

If you have questions about the conference, or about submitting a proposal, please contact the conference coordinator, Henny Haliburton ([log in to unmask]).
