>Subject: do we survey faculty attitudes?

Colleagues, a committee has been constituted by the dean of the
College to review the status of the Language Resource Center. It is
both boon and bane, but that's the subject of another post. One of
the issues that has arisen is that it might be appropriate to assess
the attitudes of the foreign language (mostly literature, actually)
faculty with regard to the Center. I have been charged with coming up
with the assessment instrument.

The goal of this instrument is two-fold; to assess current attitudes,
and to get some thought processes started for a meeting of all
language (and lit) faculty sometime in December.

Has anyone done this before? If so, you could help me immensely by
sharing your questions. Ideally, we want to administer the survey in
the first of the departments on Monday (not my idea!) so a speedy
reply will be especially valuable.

As ever, I am grateful.
