Randolph-Macon College invites applications for a Director of the Butler
Multimedia Learning Center.  The successful candidate must be able to
develop, maintain and manage a state-of-the-art digitized language
lab/multi-media learning center; teach 2 to 3 language courses a year;
provide support and training to foreign language faculty in the application
of technology to support foreign language learning; keep informed of and
assess the effectiveness of new applications as they relate to language
learning; and maintain the language lab web site.  The ideal candidate will
have an advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred); prior teaching experience and
near-native fluency in a language taught at RMC (French or Spanish
preferred); familiarity with computerized learning centers and use of
computer and audio-visual technologies in classroom instruction;
administrative ability; excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
and training in language methodology.  Please send a letter of application,
curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching philosophy, and three letters of
recommendation to Dr. Mark Malin, Acting Chair, Department of Romance
Languages, Randolph-Macon College, Ashland, VA  23005-5505.  Review of
applications will begin December 1 and continue until the position is
