2 year position with possibility of renewal. Provide systems and
communications services to the Center for Educational Technology.
Provide technical instruction as part of a team serving the
professional development needs of Project 2001 participants (faculty,
students, technical staff). Implement and support a technology
infrastructure of services to support the Center for Educational
Technology/Project 2001, including electronic communications, file
servers, NetInfo, Unix and Windows NT domain hierarchies, email
gateways, databases, FTP and other internet servers. Bachelor's
degree required, advanced degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years
experience working with systems and networks. Demonstrated excellence
in technical training and instruction. Strong understanding of TCP/IP
protocols, including HTTP, SMTP, DNS. Familiarity with Ethernet LAN
networking. Experience with Unix operating systems, including Apache.
Experience with Windows NT Server, including IIS. Desktop
troubleshooting experience on Windows NT and MacOS. Advanced
knowledge of HTML and JavaScript. Excellent interpersonal and
communications skills. Familiarity with at least one of the following
web application server environments: PHP, Zope, JSP Familiarity with
SQL database technology (Oracle, openbase).
