Assistant Professor - German (r, 09/20/00) in Department of Modern Foreign
Languages. Full-time tenure-track position. Responsibilities: Teaching
German language, literature, and civilization at all levels and first-year
courses in a second language offered by the department: i.e., Spanish,
Japanese, French, Portuguese or Russian. Ability to provide instruction in
Spanish is highly desirable. Applicants should possess a native or
near-nature command of the German language and should show a genuine
commitment to undergraduate teaching and program development. Familiarity
with proficiency-based instruction and residence/study in a German speaking
country a plus. Applicants should also be computer literate and familiar
with CALL. Salary competitive and commensurate with qualifications.
Qualifications: A Ph.D. in German is preferred; ABD for appointment to
Instructor rank. To apply: Send letter of application, statement of
