Please post the following message to the Language Learning
Technology International (LLTI) list

Strategic Partnership between MIT2 and Haiti Online

Mason Integrated Technologies Ltd (MIT2), a software
developer and language processing solutions service provider,
and Haiti Online, an Internet news and information diffusion
network, announce a strategic partnership. This cooperative
effort will allow both companies to co-market their technologies
and resources to reach even wider communities and populations
with their products and services.

MIT2 is known for its language technology productivity tools
that are part of the Creole Tool Suite(tm). Haiti Online is
the premier online source for news and information on and
about Haiti. Haiti Online received 5.6 million visits to its
Web site in June 2000, thus an average of over 185,000
hits per day.

MIT2 invited Dr. Yves Renaud, founder and president of
Haiti Online, to speak at its annual business meeting on
24 June 2000 in Waltham, MA, USA. Renaud is very keen
on pursuing language technologies, including speech systems,
multi-modal systems, and translation technologies in
collaboration with the MIT2 team.

Such an alliance will continue to help promote the use of
the Haitian Creole language and information about the
country and culture of Haiti through the medium of the
Internet. This will allow many different sectors to benefit
more fully from the range of technologies that are
currently being created for Creole languages.
