Sir:

You can try this. Goto this website
http://www.markertek.com/MTStore/Store.cfm
and check out the Odyssey Multimedia Headphones, by  Telex. We have them,
and they are durable and easy to clean.
Once installed, outfit a couple of student workers each with a box of
Kimwipes (paper towels) and spray bottle of Windex, and send them through
the room spraying and cleaning the earpieces. I suggest spraying the
Windex on the towel, rather than directly onto the earpiece.
We do this cleaning job once a week, and as a result have to date had no
one drop dead in the lab from dirty headphone toxic shock.
