Position: Manager of Audio Visual Services

Department: Library/Instructional Media Services
Posted: 05/29/2000
Position closes: Open Until Filled, with first consideration given to
applications received by June 10, 2000

Full-time, year-round position available in for an experienced,
service-oriented Manager of Audiovisual Services to oversee and
participate in the daily activities of AV Services. Reporting to the
Instructional Media Services Librarian, responsibilities include:
supervise the Audiovisual Specialist and approximately 12-20
part-time student assistants to deliver audiovisual services in
support of academic, administrative and events programming;
participate in long- and short-term planning; juggle multiple tasks
and balance shifting priorities; accommodate flexible scheduling
needs, including evenings and weekends, and provide on-call
support. Requirements include: College degree or equivalent
combination of education and experience; three years experience in
the field of audiovisual services, experience in an educational
environment strongly preferred; strong customer service,
supervisory and communications skills; the ability to use a
computer keyboard and screen, to visually inspect and manually
repair AV equipment; the ability to lift and/or carry AV equipment
up to 30-40 lbs. across the campus; the ability to navigate stairs
and safely operate a golf cart for delivery of equipment; experience
with all aspects of state-of-the-art audio, video, sound and
computing technologies; knowledge of personal computers, both MAC
and PC, and software applications including word processors and
relational databases; experience with HTML, WWW, video and data
projection and audio and video production. Knowledge of stage
lighting and photography helpful. A valid driver's license as well as a
pre-placement physical examination are required. Please submit a
