>Subject: host an ACTFL workshop?
Hello everyone,
Another request for hosts, like I sent last year about this time:
You may or may not know that a group of IALL members has collaborated
with ACTFL to develop a one-day workshop entitled "Integrating
Internet Resources into the Language Curriculum" which has been given
at FLEAT, IALL, ACTFL and a number of schools around the country -
both as open enrollment workshops and others that have been
specifically requested by schools and diestricts for their own
teachers. The workshop has been well received!
We are currently looking for a site that would like to host an open
enrollment workshop (registrants are welcome from anywhere, not
restricted to the host school), but we would like an assurance that a
number of your own teachers would be interested in attending. ACTFL
does arrange for 3 participants to attend free in exchange for the
use of the computer lab - a good deal!
Since this workshop is Internet-based, there is not much preparation
needed on the part of the host - just to see that there are Internet
connections to the computers, a newer browser installed with some
standard AV plugins, etc. I can give you more details if you are
interested ([log in to unmask]).
Steve Levy of ACTFL would like to schedule this workshop sometime
after the first of the year (Feb -May, 2001). Please contact him if
you are interested - the publicity brochure deadline is the end of
this month! Email: [log in to unmask] or by phone: 914-963-8830

Thank you for considering this request,
Marlene Johnshoy
