We have a TRV10, and I am fairly happy with it. It works beautifully
with Final Cut Pro and FireWire hooked to our G4. Analog output to
S-VHS also looks very good. Output to VHS looks as mediocre as VHS
usually does.

We are a Mac lab, so I have not yet used the memory stick or still
image features. The included card reader and software is PC only,
which is an annoyance. However, Sony is addressing the problem of
Mac compatibility to some extent. I recently received the following
promo, which indicates we can buy a mac compatible card reader, and
we probably will. (I include part of the promo for info purposes.
VDD has given me good service, but I don't endorse it over other
vendors):

Sony will soon be releasing a Universal Serial Bus Interface for
Memory
Stick Media. It's the MSACUS1
and should be available later this month. Here's some preliminary
info:

      * Read/write to/from Memory Stick media via USB port for fast
         file transfer.
      *  Up to 3 MB/second transfer rate.
      * USB cable and driver software supplied.
      * Compatible with Windows 98 and Mac OS 8.5.1-9.0

On an independent video web site, I recently saw an announcement and
read the specs on the Sony TRV-20. This is their new model, which
will replace the TRV-10. It was introduced at the recent NAB
(National Association of Broadcasters) meeting, and should be
available real soon now. It looked like a better camera at the same
price, so you might want to investigate that option. I am hoping it
will come with the Mac compatible card reader, but no info was
available on that.
