All:

We charge $.15/page here and a cash box is kept at the front desk which I
check every other day or so. Because we are a fairly small lab and
printing volume is not very high (maybe 20 or so people print per day) our
printer is kept behind the front desk. All lab computers are networked to
it. When someone prints they come up to the front desk and ask for their
paper. This way we are able to keep track of page counts. The main
computer clusters offer printers which accept "counting cards" and do
handle a much higher daily volume. Most of our customers are here to use
the language specific applications (i.e. spell-checks and Asian or Cyrillic
enabled word processors).
