Dear Bob,
It is possible that your computer center folks are correct because
Napster's software has been jamming the networks of many universities for
some time, and some universities have blocked access to Napster (read
second article 2-27).  It is true that this creates a problem for networks
which already run at near capacity during normal use.  However, it appears
that Napster is now taking action (read first article 3-23) to limit its
traffice for campuses as a reaction to the ban.
