>Subject: Re: #5493 magnetic stripe readers

We've been using a mag stripe reader and barcode wand for
circulation/checkouts here at Boston University's lab for
11 years. We got everything from:

InPath Devices
230 S. California Ave, Suite 103
Palo Alto, CA 94306

tel 650 325 0379
website www.inpath.com

In 11 years we've done one wand replacement
and one total replacement of both stripe reader
and wand. The most recent hardware upgrade was
to the PW-500-02 Stripe and card reader plus
WND-OPT-01 Wand ($395 total). Replacement wands
run $75-100, so the total package if you just
want a stripe reader could be ~ $300.

We are Mac-based for circ activity and have been very happy with
the equipment and the service InPath provides. We are a high volume
user. Note: InPath used to be called TPS Electronics.

let us know what you find; others may be interested
