I'd like to be able to offer it a good home, but I am already trying to find
room for my mother's Baldwin Spinet.
While I am sure that there is some community spirit in the hopkins' "art"
project, I know that I'd personally prefer to see a decent musical
instrument be played and cared for in an appropriate environment - rather
than become something akin to a Tijuana taxi and subjected to the ravages of
the untrained public in moisture laden environs.

A reminder to Ruth and others on the list: The Hop is running the
"Hands on Pianos" project
<http://hop.dartmouth.edu/featured/piano-project>. The cut-off date
was yesterday, BUT they may still accept suitable instruments for
donation.
From their site:
"...Offer a piano for donation. Do you have a piano you'd like to say
goodbye to? Submit a donation by March 1 detailing the condition and
location of your instrument, and the Hop will let you know by April 1
if we can include it in the project. This spring, licensed
professionals will pick up those instruments free of charge (pianos
within a 15-mile radius of Hanover will be given primary
consideration) and bring them to a location where artists will work on
them. Donors get to share their pianos' stories and see their old
friends go out with glory. DOWNLOAD FORM <http://bit.ly/wQ0lCE>
