On Monday, May 3 at 7:15 pm Dr. Pamela Hunt, PhD, Senior Biologist at New
Hampshire Audubon will give an illustrated presentation at Kendal at Hanover
on the "State of the Birds" reporting on her extensive research on what is
happening with New Hampshire's birds. About a third of our breeding bird
species are declining, and some precipitously, including such favorite
species as Whip Poor Wills, Barn Swallows and Wood Thrushes. Dr. Hunt will
tell us about species at risk and what is known and not known about the
causes of their disappearance. Kendal will welcome members of the NH Audubon
Mascoma Chapter and their guests, along with other Upper Valley birders who
would like to attend as space may allow. Admission will be free, but because
of the limited seating capacity in the Kendal Gathering Room, and the need
to assure seating for interested Kendal residents, we ask that non-Kendal
residents planning to attend please confirm reservations by e-mail to
[log in to unmask] or by telephone to 603 643 8236.
