George Clark and I got out yesterday for some Windsor County birding.
A nice day with some good winter birds. The fields near the Woodstock
sewage plant had the greatest diversity. Amazing views of the Snow
Buntings both on the ground and swirling above. The waxwings were
feeding in the parking lot of the Spooner Restaurant, where the
Yellow-rumped warbler may have been, but it couldn't be confirmed.
A Northern Flicker at Lake Runnemede was a nice surprise and a
possible sign of spring.
This morning a pair of Red-bellied Woodpeckers and a singing Brown
Creeper by our Norwich home.
