Ice is beginning to recede at Ledyard, with ~100 yards of open water
above and below the bridge, ~25% of the Montshire Cove ice-free, and a
small open area east of the RR bridge. At 9:30 am this morning, the
Monsthire Cove had 2 Canada Geese, 12 Mallards and a single drake
Green-winged Teal. I stopped again at 5:30 pm and there had been some
changeover: 4 Canadas, 4 Mallards, a drake Hooded Merganser, and 3
Common Mergs.
It won't be long now!
