Sunday, March 14: 10:30 AM -A pair of Hooded Mergansers has arrived at the
beaver pond near me, even though it is mostly still ice.  Very happy to see
them- last year there were 2 pairs plus a pair of wood ducks. Merganser and
Wood ducks all raised young last year.

Also got a glimpse of a Brown Creeper Saturday, and we now have 5-7 Purple
Finches. Some appear to be first-year juveniles.
Barred Owls  have been hooting it up AM + PM, Titmice are singing.....
huge flock of Goldfinches making cheery sounds and twittering about.
