This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Monday, June 12th, 2017.



A BROWN BOOBY was discovered on Cobbett’s Pond in Windham on June 10th and 
was still present on the 11th and 12th. The bird has been seen from the town 
beach located at #45 Cobbett’s Pond Road and on the flat roof of the 
residence located at #31 Cobbett’s Pond Road where it has been visible from 
the road. If you try to see the bird, do not park along Cobbett’s Pond Road, 
do not block traffic, and do not stand in the road. You may need to park on 
a side road and walk to the site. Please respect both property and privacy 
rights.



2 MISSISSIPPI KITES are nesting in Newmarket, and at least 2 have been seen 
near the Great Bay Discovery Center in Greenland during the past week. A 
single MISSISSIPPI KITE was sighted in flight near the Durham Public Library 
on June 7th.



4 SANDHILL CRANES were seen flying over the Pickering Ponds area in 
Rochester on June 11th.



3 GRASSHOPPER SPARROWS were reported from the Concord Airport on June 10th.



2 YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOOS were reported from Pawtuckaway State Park in 
Nottingham on June 11th.



2 FISH CROWS were seen nesting at Odiorne Point State Park in Rye on June 
10th, and 3 FISH CROWS were seen in downtown Durham on June 7th.



Over 20 PURPLE MARTINS were seen at Cross Beach Road in Seabrook on June 
10th.



A BICKNELL’S THRUSH and a BOREAL CHICKADEE were seen near the top of Cannon 
Mountain on June 12th.



A pair of PEREGRINE FALCONS that nested in North Walpole has raised 4 chicks 
that appeared to be ready to fledge as of June 8th. An adult PEREGRINE 
FALCON was seen in Nashua on the 9th.



5 ROSEATE TERNS were seen foraging with 225 COMMON TERNS off of Odiorne 
Point State Park in Rye on June 10th.



A LEAST BITTERN was reported from the Powwow River in Kingston on June 10th.



A BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON and 53 GREAT EGRETS were seen in Hampton Harbor 
on June 10th.



Lingering migrants still being reported from the coast during the past week 
included a BUFFLEHEAD, a RED-THROATED LOON, and a RED-NECKED GREBE.
