Today Ed Hack and I birded in 4 Vermont locations: 1) along Marton  
Road (MR) at the Windsor State Corrections grounds, 2) then briefly  
around the intersection of Marton and Hunt Roads in Windsor. 3) then  
along Ferry Road (FR) in Weathersfield Bow, and 4) finally in the  
Connecticut River flood plain by the Windsor Industrial Park (Wfp).  
Among the highlights were Belted Kingfishers (FR, Wfp), an American  
Kestrel (MR), 2 Red-bellied Woodpeckers (Wfp), 4 Yellow-bellied  
Sapsuckers (MR), numerous Northern Flickers (especially the 15 at FR),  
numerous Eastern Phoebes (especially the 13 at FR), House Wren (Wfp),  
a singing Blue-headed Vireo (MR), a singing Warbling Vireo (FR),  
Nashville Warbler (MR), 2 Magnolia Warblers (FR), Scarlet Tanager  
(MR), Lincoln's Sparrow (FR), and 2 Purple Finches (MR). A  
particularly notable find today was the presence of more than 50  
Yellow-rumped Warblers in a corn field and the trees bordering that  
field in the Windsor flood plain.
