So for about 2 weeks now I have (when home) headed out into the evening
dusk.

(sometimes just hanging out in our Thetford dooyard) and listening.

Alas !! This evening at approx 7:15 ol' Mr. Timberdoodle graced the waning
evening with his
most glorious of "peents"... is any sound more sublime ? well....

I have not gone over my 25 years worth of records to prove this is the
earliest (I rem. a frigid Feb 18th some 10 yrs ago hearing one from the wet
gully behind the house at ~ 4 am.... later froze ?)

Even heard him "twitter" (the original!) this evening.

So keep your ears perked !! and your eyes peeled !!

Bill S and family.
