This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Monday, December 15th, 
2014.



A PACIFIC LOON was seen from Fort Stark in New Castle on December 14th.



A GYRFALCON was seen in Madbury during the past week.



A pair of PEREGRINE FALCONS was seen in Concord on December 14th, and a pair 
was seen in Nashua on the 15th.



A ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK was seen at the Little River Salt Marsh in North Hampton 
on December 13th.



A SNOWY OWL was seen along River Road in Manchester on December 11th.



An EASTERN SCREECH-OWL was seen in Pembroke on December 14th.



An adult GLAUCOUS GULL was seen on the Seabrook side of Hampton Harbor on 
December 13th.



2 ICELAND GULLS were seen at Hedgehog Pond in Salem on December 10th, 1 was 
seen at Canobie Lake in Salem on the 13th, and 1 was seen in Rochester on 
the 11th.



4 EURASIAN WIGEONS were seen along with 143 AMERICAN WIGEONS at Great Bay in 
Greenland on December 12th.



A male BARROW’S GOLDENEYE, a REDHEAD and 8 GADWALL were seen at Great Bay in 
Greenland on December 12th.



A female BARROW’S GOLDENEYE was seen in Hampton on December 14th.



A LONG-TAILED DUCK was seen on the Connecticut River near Charlestown on 
December 14th.



A GADWALL was seen in Pembroke on December 14th, and 1 was seen in Hollis on 
the 12th. A NORTHERN SHOVELER was reported from Hollis on the 8th.



2 NORTHERN PINTAILS were seen in Hampton, and 3 were seen in Concord, all on 
December 14th.



5 RUDDY DUCKS were seen at Country Pond in Kingston on December 12th.



A SNOW GOOSE was seen with a flock of CANADA GEESE in fields along Route 1A 
in Litchfield on December 5th, 6th, and 10th.



A BLACK GUILLEMOT and 3 PURPLE SANDPIPERS were reported from the coast on 
December 13th.



An AMERICAN COOT was seen at Eel Pond in Rye on December 13th.



21 SNOW BUNTINGS were reported from Berlin on December 15th, and a flock of 
20 was seen in Lyme on the 14th.



A flock of 65 COMMON REDPOLLS was seen at Sunapee State Beach in Newbury on 
December 14th, a flock of 24 was reported from Twin Mountain on December 
15th, and 1 was reported from Sandwich on the 9th.



5 EVENING GROSBEAKS were seen in Twin Mountain on December 14th.



2 RUSTY BLACKBIRDS were seen visiting a birdfeeder in Barrington on 
consecutive days during the past week.



A FOX SPARROW was seen in Loudon on December 14th.



A late-migrating BALTIMORE ORIOLE was seen visiting a birdfeeder in 
Brentwood on December 12th and 13th.



A late-migrating COMMON YELLOWTHROAT was seen at the Urban Forestry Center 
in Portsmouth on December 13th.



6 late-migrating DOUBLE-CRESTED CORMORANTS were seen along the coast on 
December 13th.



Join the 100-Year-Old Tradition and Have Fun at NH Audubon’s Christmas Bird 
Count.

Counts are scheduled for December 13, 2014 through January 1, 2015. Those 
interested in participating in this fun winter activity will find the
