I did some brief 'scouting' for tomorrow's County Quest outing, which
will start at the Connecticut-White river confluence at 8:30 am (we'll
meet in the parking lot by Listen Center). From there we'll head north
to the Wilder Dam, then walk leisurely through the nearby neighborhood,
mainly looking for feeder birds, wrapping up by ~10:30.
At the confluence:
108 Mallards
2 American Black Ducks
6 Am. Crows
2 Blue Jays
1 N. Cardinal singing
At the Wilder Dam:
2 Common Mergansers
1 Bald Eagle - an adult feeding on the Vermont shoreline ~200 yds downriver
8 Am. Crows
With tonight's approaching warm front, perhaps we'll see the first
blackbids or grackles tomorrow. Weather sounds a bit iffy, but George
Clark and I will be there regardless.
Chris
