This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Wednesday, April 18th, 
2012.



A GLAUCOUS GULL was seen in Hampton Harbor on April 14th.



10 BRANT were seen flying over Hampton on April 16th, and 4 were seen on the 
17th.



A pair of NORTHERN SHOVELERS was reported from the Wilder Dam area on the 
Connecticut River on April 15th, and 3 HORNED GREBES were seen here on the 
16th.



2 NORTHERN SHOVELERS, 15 LESSER SCAUP, and an AMERICAN COOT were seen at the 
Exeter Wastewater Treatment Plant on April 14th, and 6 BUFFLEHEADS, and 4 
RING-NECKED DUCKS were seen here on the 15th.



2 PIED-BILLED GREBES were seen at the Deer Hill Wildlife Management Area in 
Brentwood on April 15th.



A flock of over 200 LONG-TAILED DUCKS was see from Great Boars Head in 
Hampton on April 12th.



Over 200 NORTHERN GANNETS were seen along the coast on April 14th.



50 PURPLE SANDPIPERS were seen at the entrance to Hampton Harbor on April 
13th.



3 PIPING PLOVERS were seen at Hampton Beach State Park and 6 were seen at 
Seabrook Beach on April 14th.



2 UPLAND SANDPIPERS were seen at Hampton Beach State Park on April 17th.



A SOLITARY SANDPIPER was seen off of Old Mill Road in Lee on April 18th.



2 SPOTTED SANDPIPERS, and 5 WILSON'S SNIPE were reported from Derry on April 
18th.



3 GREATER YELLOWLEGS, and a VIRGINIA RAIL were reported from Chapman's 
Landing in Stratham on April 16th.



6 SNOWY EGRETS and a BLACK GUILLEMOT were seen on the coast on April 13th.



2 ROUGH -WINGED SWALLOWS were seen in Raymond on April 15th, 2 were seen in 
Exeter on the 16th, 1 was reported from Penacook on the 17th, and 2 were 
seen in Derry on the 18th.



3 BARN SWALLOWS were seen in Hampton on April 13th, 1 was seen in Rye on 
April 14th, and 8 were tallied on the coast on the 18th.



2 BANK SWALLOWS were seen along the coast on April 15th.



A WHIP-POOR-WILL was heard in Concord on April 17th.



A LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH was heard in Epping on April 16th, and 1 was 
reported from Penacook on the 17th. Other WARBLER species reported during 
the past week include PALM WARBLER, PINE WARBLER, and YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER.



An OVENBIRD that was discovered in the yard of a private residence in Derry 
on December 31st, continues to be seen and was last reported on April 14th.



There were several reports of BLUE-HEADED VIREOS during the past week.



A BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHER was reported from Warren Farm in Barrington, and 1 
was reported from Derry, both on April 18th.



A RUSTY BLACKBIRD was reported from Turkey Pond in Concord on April 14th, 
and 4 were seen in Penacook on the 17th.



4 EASTERN MEADOWLARKS were counted at the Pease International Tradeport in 
Newington on April 15th, and 4 were seen at the Strafford County Farm in 
Dover on April 17th.



4 BROWN THRASHERS were reported from Ashland on April 18th, 1 was seen in 
Lee on the 18th, and 1 was seen in Rochester on the 17th.



A HOUSE WREN was reported from Newton on April 16th.



2 FISH CROWS were reported from Rye on April 18th, and 1 was seen in 
Canterbury on the 15th.



2 pairs of MERLINS were seen at the Hanover Golf Course during the past 
week.



A PEREGRINE FALCON was seen in Concord on April 15th.



A pair of PEREGRINE FALCONS is nesting in Manchester and has already begun
