Kyle Jones and I found the Red Crossbills reported yesterday afternoon 
by George Clark and Ed Hack.  At ~8 am they were in the strip of Scotch 
pines along the north shore of the pond, between the access area and 
small pulloff on River Road.  A female was with 2 full-grown juveniles, 
feeding one of them.  A surprising find at this time of year, after a 
winter in which the species was virtually absent throughout Vermont.
