The warm weather definitely spurred on our feathered friends in Croydon.
Saturday we had at least 15 tree swallows fighting with each other and
at least one pair of bluebirds over the two sets of bluebird boxes in
our fields. The most popular of the boxes was victim of an errant sled
this winter and was only a foot from the ground- making it unusable.
With only one set of boxes to choose from, our bluebirds were getting
harassed constantly. Mark fixed the broken box late Saturday, and on
Sunday, the bluebirds and tree swallows were at peace, although the
swallows were still arguing amongst themselves over the other three.

Had three flickers browsing the yard- first sighting although I've heard
them call once or twice before this.

And very late at dusk Saturday night we had a kettle of 11 unidentified
raptors. The light was fading fast, so neither Mark nor I could get a
positive ID, although both Broadwing Hawk and Turkey Vulture were
possibilities. Sunday we had three Broadwings soar through, so both are
in the area.

And today I saw my FOY Tiger beetle at Centerra in Lebanon. Spring is
definitely here!
