On an overcast and cool but calm morning, 12 observers joined in a bird walk at Bedell Bridge State Park in North Haverhill, NH, as arranged by Mascoma Chapter of NH Audubon, and found 30 bird species. Water levels were strikingly low, but birds were plentiful, there being birds to be seen almost continuously. An outstanding highlight was the presence of 24 Rusty Blackbirds, but other species were also numerous including 60 American Robins and 35 Yellow-rumped Warblers. Among other species were 9 Wood Ducks, 4 Great Blue Herons, a Red-bellied Woodpecker, 6 Northern Flickers, Eastern Phoebe, 3 Palm Warblers, a Blackpoll, 3 Common Yellowthroats, and 5 Purple Finches. Sparrows included Song, Swamp, White-throated, and White-crowned.
