This is New Hampshire Audubon’s Rare Bird Alert for Wednesday, July 10th, 
2013.



2 SANDHILL CRANES continue to be seen in fields adjacent to Plains Road and 
Route 135 in Monroe.



A MISSISSIPPI KITE was seen from Gonet Drive in Newmarket on July 4th.



An ACADIAN FLYCATCHER was seen north of Horseshoe Pond in Concord on July 
6th. To try to see this bird, follow the railroad track and then the river 
path north of Horseshoe Pond – the bird has been seen foraging in and around 
a large tree at the foot of the railroad embankment, beside a large meadow.



A singing CLAY-COLORED SPARROW was reported from Arboretum Drive at the 
north end of the Pease International Tradeport runways on July 7th.



A LEAST TERN was seen in Hampton Harbor on July 7th.



A LAUGHING GULL was seen in Rye Harbor on July 4th.



Several NOTHERN GANNETS and WILSON’S STORM-PETRELS were reported from 
coastal waters on July 6th.



A flock of 18 GLOSSY IBIS was seen in Hampton on July 7th.



An AMERICAN BITTERN was seen near Post Pond in Lyme on July 2nd and 3rd.



A SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER and 7 LEAST SANDPIPERS were seen in Hampton Marsh 
on July 4th, and 3 LESSER YELLOWLEGS were seen on July 7th. These are 
post-breeding southbound migrants!



A NELSON'S SPARROW was reported from Philbrick Marsh (sometimes called 
townline cove marsh) in North Hampton on July 7th.



A FISH CROW was reported from Durham on July 3rd, and 3 were reported from 
Powwow Pond in Kingston on the 6th.



3 BICKNELL’S THRUSHES, a YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER, a RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET, 
and several BLACKPOLL WARBLERS were reported from Cannon Mountain in the 
White Mountains on July 4th.



3 BICKNELL’S THRUSHES, 2 MOURNING WARBLERS, 15 BLACKPOLL WARBLERS, a 
BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKER, and 2 YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHERS were reported from 
the Caps Ridge Trail off of Jefferson Notch Road in the White Mountains on 
July 5th.



A male BAY-BREASTED WARBLER was seen on Jefferson Notch Road in the White 
Mountains on July 5th.



2 BICKNELL’S THRUSHES, a YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER, and a BLACK-BACKED 
WOODPECKER were reported from Mount Hale in the White Mountains on July 6th.



6 BOREAL CHICKADEES and a PHILADELPHIA VIREO were seen in Pittsburg on July 
5th.



An OLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHER was reported from Grafton County on July 4th.



2 PURPLE MARTINS, a CLFF SWALLOW, and a FISH CROW were reported from Great 
East Lake in Wakefield on July 7th.



A PEREGRINE FALCON was seen in Concord on July 7th.



A PINE SISKIN was seen in Wolfeboro on July 3rd.
