Just walked a new trail at Pondicherry providing access to Mud Pond via
nearly complete, handicapped accessible path about a half mile long, mostly
board walk through spruce/cypress marsh Black-backed Woodpecker habitat,
offering panoramic view of the Presidential Range over the Pond from the
viewing platform at the end. Today the mountains were in clouds, but we had
close up views of about a half dozen Gray Jays and four White Winged Scoters
from the platform. The trail head is on Route 116 about midway between
Jefferson and Whitefield.
