This is the Vermont Rare Bird Alert for June 16, 2008 covering the period
June 9 - June 15, 2008.  

 

A LEAST BITTERN was seen in Grand Isle on 6/11.  GREAT EGRETS were spotted
in Delta Park (1 on 6/9), Shelburne (1 on 6/9) and Winooski (1 on 6/12).

 

A BONAPARTE'S GULL was seen at Herrick's Cove on 6/10.

 

A LONG-EARED OWL was observed in Grand Isle on 6/9.

 

BLUE-WINGED WARBLERS were sighted in Saxton's River (1 on 6/9), Putney (1 on
6/13), West Rutland Marsh (1 on 6/14), Middlebury (1 on 6/14) and West
Rutland power line and orchard (2 on 6/15).   A BREWSTER'S WARBLER was also
spotted in Middlebury on 6/14.  CERULEAN WARBLERS were seen on Snake Mt. WMA
on 6/9 and 6/15 as well as in Bristol on 6/14.

 

Four GRASSHOPPER SPARROWS were spotted at Franklin County State Airport on
6/14.

 

Two ORCHARD ORIOLES were seen at the Farrell Access at Dead Creek on 6/15.
