On Saturday April 14, 2012, Vermont County 2012 Birding Quest will
hold a morning field trip led by Chris Rimmer and George Clark and
starting at 7:30 AM at Lake Runnemede in Windsor, VT, and likely
continuing to at least one other location in that town with an ending
time around 10:30 AM. Road instructions are given below; please note
that there will be carpooling from Norwich. This field trip is free
and open to the public. Participants should be able to walk at least a
mile over fairly level, but sometimes uneven, ground. Bring binoculars
and a scope if available. We'll be especially looking for waterbirds
and landbird migrants in an excellent birding site.

Road and carpooling instructions: From Exit 9 off I-91, turn south on
Route 5 towards Windsor. After going about 3 miles southward on Route
5, look for the Back Forty guns and ammo store on the left, with a
Price Chopper supermarket just beyond, also on the left. This walk
will begin at 7:30 AM by the entrance to a long driveway directly
across Route 5 from the Back Forty store. Please do not drive into
that driveway, vehicular use of which is reserved for local residents.
Parking is available along Route 5, but be sure your site is legal.

Carpoolers from towns around the Hanover/Norwich area are to leave
from the River Road commuter parking lot in Norwich by the Ledyard
Bridge at 7:00 AM that morning. Vehicles are scheduled to return to
the commuter lot by 11:00 AM.
