I took a late afternoon walk at Oak Hill this afternoon. As it was late in the
day, things were pretty quiet. Highlights were a Ruffed Grouse that flushed from
right in front of me, a Wild Turkey that erupted from the side of the trail and
flew directly over me at close range, and great looks at a Barred Owl who peered
at me for quite some time from a trailside pine.

Upon returning to my car, I pulled over 60(!) ticks off my dog and several off
myself, including one on my scalp. This seems likely to be a very bad year for
ticks.
