Family adventure sat and sun to Middlebury for hockey.  I request we do some
birds, family obliges me.

 

Rough-legged Hawks (4) in Addison, 2 in dark phase.  1 Bald Eagle.

 

Chimney Pt Bridge, aka construction site.  This, at this time of year, has
some of the only open water on the Lake.

 

~700  Co Mergs, mostly males

~40 Co Goldeneyes, mostly males (no Barrow's)

1 Am Widgeon, M

1 No Pintail, M

Mallards, Blacks

Herring and Gr-Bl-Backed Gulls

 

Vicinity.Panton and Shoreham:

 

1 Merlin (chasing sparrows)

2 Horned Larks,  along farm road

1 Ea Bluebird   on teley wire

1 Mockingbird in shrubs

1 Red-bellied Woodpecker  (heard from bed), hanging around suet, and on
teley pole.

Robins (50~), redwings, grackles.

 

Hockey was ok, lost in finals.

 

Birds were great !
