A flock of 60+ Bohemian waxwings took a break in our yard to enjoy the afternoon sunshine on Sunday, along with our resident Northern Goshawk which made a run at a Mourning Dove. Watched the aerial display until both birds disappeared over the treetops.

Heard our first Winter Wren singing early this morning.

Briefly stopped at Icehouse Rd. on Mascoma Lake during the snow and sleet this am. Robins and Red-winged Blackbirds were all over the staghorn sumac consuming as many berries as they could. Song sparrows were also working the brushy areas along the lake bank.
