In advance of tomorrow's Norwich Quest birding walk on the Cossingham
Trails (meeting at Dan and Whit's at 6:45 am), I did some scouting from
6-7:30 am this morning. A nice selection of woodland and open country
birds, though song activity is dwindling. A number of species are
feeding young now and so responsive to 'pishing' -- I had great looks at
some of the birds below.

Deer flies were mildly annoying, mosquitoes less so. Anyone planning to
come might do well to wear long sleeves and a hat. Weather sounds a bit
iffy, but we'll hope showers and thunderstorms hold off. I'll be at D&W
at 6:45 regardless of weather, and we'll make a decision on the spot.

Chris
