As I came by Cuttings restaurant on RT. 10 just now (about 10:45), I
saw a large flock of birds in a tree. I turned into the parking
lot. These birds were Bohemians, plus one mockingbird. Just as I
stopped the motor, about half the birds flew away. At that point I
did not see any cedars. As I continued down Rt. 10, I could see the
birds near CRREL, but moving north. Then as I turned into Kendal,
there were at least 300 waxwings in a tree near the entrance. I only
counted a handful of cedars, but they were moving around a lot, so
there may have been more, but certainly cedars were only a small
minority.
